Q: I cannot afford the College fee, can I still attend?
A: Yes. We are very happy to offer scholarships to anyone who cannot afford the College fee. We can offer a full or part scholarship or alternatively, we can set up a payment plan for you. To request a scholarship, payment plan or for more information, please contact Rachel Bailey.
Q: How do the semester's work?
A: The year is broken down into 3 semesters - Fall (Sept-Dec), Spring (Jan-March) and Summer (April-June). Students can begin VLC at the beginning of any of the 3 semesters. The semesters remain the same content and are repeated each year.
Q: I am unable to attend of the VLC nights, what should I do?
A: Please make every effort to attend the VLC nights, however, if you are unable to attend one evening please contact Rachel Bailey so we can record your absence. If you are unable to attend more than 2 out of the 3 VLC nights in that semester, we suggest that you skip the next semester and repeat it the next time around.
Q: Will the talks be recorded?
A: Yes. They will be available to VLC students via the website (these should not substitute your attendance).
Q: Who will my mentor me?
A: Your mentor will be a mature and experienced 201 student, having had significant experience in church or marketplace leadership. Each mentor typically begins with the students in the Fall Term and finish with the Summer Term.
Q: How many other students will be in my mentor group?
A: This is dependant on the size of the semester. It is likely to be around 6 students in total.
Q: Will I be in a mentor group with others from my Vintage Church service time?
A: Again, this will depend on the size of the semester, but where possible we will try to make mentor groups specific to your service time or with those that we believe you will have a rewarding time with.
Q: Can I choose my mentor / can my mentor choose me?
A: We will try our best to accommodate any requests although this cannot be guaranteed.
Q: Can I complete 101 or 201 over 2 years?
A: Yes. You can spread the semesters out over the two years if this makes the College more manageable for you. Please bare in mind that you are likely to have a different mentor for each year.
Q: Are the Special Events for VLC students compulsory?
A: These events are optional and free of charge to VLC students.
Q: When is the 101 and 201 Retreat Day?
A: TBC - we will confirm as soon as possible. More information will be provided to students in advance of the day.
Q: Will dinner be provided?
A: No, but we will provide snacks.
Q: Is there childcare?
A: Not at this time.
